We've got your application to start a Neighbourhood Watch scheme - next steps

Earlier this year we were in touch regard the creation of Neighbourhood Watch Group for Pathfield Road. There are currently three other people registered for NHW in the area proposed. 

I am a locally based volunteer serving as Development lead for the Lambeth Neighbourhood Watch Association and also as acting Membership Support Administrator (MSA for short) for Stockwell West Ward. It is the role of an MSA to help your application journey with Neighbourhood Watch.  

As part of the approval process, we need to arrange a short chat with you before your scheme can be approved. While this can be done in whichever way suit you best it is usually easiest to do this via a video call such as Zoom. Please let me know which days and times are likely to be most convenient for you over the next month.

This conversation helps us support you properly, answer any questions you may have, and make sure everything is in place for your scheme to succeed.

I will ask what you aim to achieve, how many neighbours you have consulted, whether you are planning to work in partnership with Street/Estate Tenants and Residents Group or Facebook or Whatsapp Group. I will also ask if you are already in touch with your Ward Police Team and Safer Neighbourhood Panel and can probably help with an introduction if you are not. 

It will make much better use of your time and mine if you have already read How to start a Neighbourhood Watch scheme - step by step but, in LAMBETH, NHW groups undertake most of what is described in partnership with a Street/Estate TRA.  

Please note that we can’t approve your application until this chat has taken place. If we don’t hear from you by the end of October the application may be put back on hold or closed.

If your application is approved, you’ll be able to invite neighbours to register, be officially registered as a scheme and be part of the Neighbourhood Watch family, and start making a real difference in your local community.
